Garden Park Ward

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

We welcome you to the historic Garden Park Ward and grounds. The oak trees, pond, and stream, together with the meetinghouse and chapel provide a place of worship, tranquility and beauty with historic ties to the Mormon Pioneers. The Garden Park Ward serves as a meetinghouse for a congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Church") and is not a reception/event center. When visiting the grounds, we invite your kind observance of the following guidelines in recognition of the sacred nature of the buildings and grounds as a religious site and to facilitate the use and enjoyment of the grounds by others. Consumption of alcohol, smoking, or use of drugs is not permitted at any time.

Grounds Use – General Guidelines

Access

The grounds are open to the public from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm on Sundays for worship services. General public access to or use of the grounds at other times may be limited to accommodate previously scheduled private use of the grounds or for Church or neighborhood activities. Security precautions may also result in limited access to the property.

Photography

The grounds are not available for commercial photography on Sundays but will generally be available for photography on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. & Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Access to the grounds for photography may also be restricted when necessary to permit the use of the building and grounds for essential Church-related activities. When such an event occurs, we will use reasonable efforts to provide advance notice but, in some instances, we may be unable to do so. If you arrive and discover or are notified that the grounds are being used for Church-related activities, we ask that you demonstrate respect by not using the grounds at that time and plan to return another day.

Vehicles are not permitted on the grounds except in designated parking stalls. Changing rooms are not available on the grounds, and you should make any clothing changes prior to arriving for your appointment. All photographic subjects should observe high-standards of modesty in dress and conduct during photographic shoots. We ask that you please remain on marked pathways and avoid the flowerbeds and shrubbery to protect the landscaping from damage.

Wedding Receptions

Please note that the use of the grounds and facilities for wedding receptions is currently limited to persons who meet the following requirements: the bride or groom is a current member or the daughter/son of a current Bonneville Stake member, confirmed by the bishop of their respective ward at the time of making the reservation and prior to the reception date.

The grounds may be used for wedding receptions Thursdays between June 16 – August 22, 2025 . Use of the premises is subject to the use guidelines outlined herein.
