Garden Park Ward The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints We welcome you to the historic Garden Park Ward and grounds. The oak trees, pond, and stream, together with the meetinghouse and chapel provide a place of worship, tranquility and beauty with historic ties to the Mormon Pioneers. The Garden Park Ward serves as a meetinghouse for a congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Church") and is not a reception/event center. When visiting the grounds, we invite your kind observance of the following guidelines in recognition of the sacred nature of the buildings and grounds as a religious site and to facilitate the use and enjoyment of the grounds by others. Consumption of alcohol, smoking, or use of drugs is not permitted at any time.
Grounds Use – General Guidelines Access The grounds are open to the public from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm on Sundays for worship services. General public access to or use of the grounds at other times may be limited to accommodate previously scheduled private use of the grounds or for Church or neighborhood activities. Security precautions may also result in limited access to the property.
Photography The grounds are not available for commercial photography on Sundays but will generally be available for photography on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. & Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Access to the grounds for photography may also be restricted when necessary to permit the use of the building and grounds for essential Church-related activities. When such an event occurs, we will use reasonable efforts to provide advance notice but, in some instances, we may be unable to do so. If you arrive and discover or are notified that the grounds are being used for Church-related activities, we ask that you demonstrate respect by not using the grounds at that time and plan to return another day. Vehicles are not permitted on the grounds except in designated parking stalls. Changing rooms are not available on the grounds, and you should make any clothing changes prior to arriving for your appointment. All photographic subjects should observe high-standards of modesty in dress and conduct during photographic shoots. We ask that you please remain on marked pathways and avoid the flowerbeds and shrubbery to protect the landscaping from damage.
Wedding Receptions and Other Events Please note that the use of the grounds and facilities for wedding receptions and other events is currently limited to persons who meet the following requirements:
The grounds may be used for weddings and wedding receptions between May and September on Thursdays or Fridays, as available. The grounds may also be used for other events appropriate to the nature of the premises as determined by us in our sole and complete discretion. All use of the premises is subject to the same use guidelines outlined herein. Please note that only the grounds and Carriage House are available except in the event of inclement weather. For available dates, please see Availability & Scheduling below. Those attending events on the grounds or in Church facilities must observe standards of behavior appropriate to Church-owned properties as determined by us in our discretion. Participants who fail to do so may be asked to leave the premises. Without limiting the foregoing, the conduct of the those who have reserved use of the premises (e.g., members of a wedding party) and their invitees (e.g., guests and service personnel) must respect the nature of the premises as a church site and those living within the neighborhood. For clarity, all music, whether live or recorded, must not exceed 50 decibels and must cease at 9:00 pm. Vehicles are not permitted on the grounds except in designated parking stalls. However, upon payment of a $250 refundable damages deposit, catering and delivery vehicles may access the circular drive. The deposit will be refunded in the absence of damage to the circular drive area (including grass). Unless previously authorized, decorating and other set up activities are limited to the actual day of the event. All decorations and event materials (e.g., tables, chairs, signage) must be removed, and cleanup of the premises completed, in each case, by 11:30 p.m. of the day of the event. Gates and buildings will be locked at 11:30 p.m. to ensure the safety and security of the premises. A minimum security and cleaning deposit of $1,000 is required (or $1,250 for vehicle access to the circular drive) within ten (10) days of scheduling a reception. $750 of the deposit is non-refundable. $250 will be refunded upon the successful cleanup of the event. (The $250 damage deposit will also be refunded in the absence of damage to the circular drive area.) Additional amounts may be withheld when the grounds or facilities require additional cleaning. A $50.00 fee will be assessed for lost keys or keys that are not returned within twenty-four (24) hours after the scheduled event.
